Given the European Union’s response to the current migrant crisis – which has been anything but well coordinated – it seems appropriate to take a brief (and humorous) look at how Europeans see each other.
Thus I present this postcard picked up in the UK sometime in the second half of the 1990s. This was soon after the EU had expanded to 15 members. Today the union numbers 28. You know, that amounts to a humongous amount of different opinions. No wonder we shouldn’t be surprised when the organisation can’t deliver reasonably effective resolutions on great (or small) issues in a timely manner.
You could say it’s a very cabobble kind of affair.
So here it is: THE PERFECT EUROPEAN SHOULD BE… (I wonder if an updated version exists. It’d have to be a lot bigger than this standard size card.)
